Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using ZimboConnect, operated by Zimbo Connect (“Company”, “we”, “us”, and “our”). It sits alongside our Terms of Use and our friendlier, day-to-day Community Guidelines — if anything here conflicts with those, this policy governs on questions of acceptable use specifically. By using ZimboConnect, you agree to follow it.
What you can do on ZimboConnect
ZimboConnect exists for the Zimbabwean diaspora to:
- Connect with other members of the diaspora community.
- Share cultural content and take part in community discussion.
- Discover and attend events, and organise events of your own.
- List and discover businesses in our community directory.
What is strictly prohibited
You must not use ZimboConnect to:
- Post explicit, sexually graphic, or pornographic content.
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other members.
- Impersonate another user, or any other person or entity.
- Share another person’s personal information without their consent (sometimes called “doxxing”).
- Create a fake profile, or otherwise use the platform under a false identity.
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or falsify our age verification.
- Contact, or attempt to contact, minors.
- Promote, facilitate, or engage in illegal activity of any kind.
- Spam other members, including unsolicited bulk messages or repeated solicitation.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise access the platform through automated means without our prior written permission.
Enforcement
Violating this policy may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, at our sole discretion, without refund of any subscription, listing, or ticket fees already paid. We may also remove or restrict access to any content that violates this policy, at any time and without prior notice, and where required by law we may report illegal activity to the relevant authorities — see our Law Enforcement Protocol.
Reporting a violation
If you see something that breaks this policy, please report it using the in-app Report button on the profile, message, or listing in question, or by emailing us at support@zimboconnect.com with as much detail as you can provide. We review reports and act on them; you will not be identified to the person you report.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time, for example to address new ways the platform is misused. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
