Say it in your language šŸ™šŸ¾ How do you greet your elders?

By the ZimboConnect team

Zimbabwe has many languages, and in every one of them how you greet an elder matters. šŸ’› In Shona we might say "Mangwanani, makadii?" (Good morning, how are you?, using the respectful form). In Ndebele, "Livukile njani?" (How did you wake up?). Others will know the clapping, the kneeling, the lowered eyes, and the thing Mum made you do before you were allowed to sit down šŸ˜„ So teach us. Shona, Ndebele, Tonga, Kalanga, Venda, Shangaan, Nambya, Chewa, Sotho, or any language your family speaks. šŸ‘‰ Write the greeting šŸ‘‰ Tell us what it means in English šŸ‘‰ Tell us one gesture that goes with it And if your family speaks it differently, add your version. There's more than one right way. šŸ‘‰ How do you greet your elders in your language, and what does it mean?
